Pepper Planting

I planted the peppers in the concrete of our dry soil. Two rows each of Poblano and Anaheim and four rows of Bell Peppers.  Should be enough peppers.

We also planted all our summer garden seeds:  Green bean, pinto bean, lima bean, squash, cucumber, okra, and sunflowers.

Fortunately, it started to rain the next day, and the forecast is for 7 days of rain.
I am so relieved to be getting this rain after all that work.

Tomatoes Planted

Tomato seedlings were getting big and had to go in the ground.  Unfortunately the rain chance dried up, so that is all we put in.  The peppers are easier to water in the greenhouse compared to the garden.

David makes the perfect rows, and I sit and plant each seedling.

Planting in four "perfect" rows

David comes back in and gives them a drink from water collected off the barn roof.

May Day Update

Tomato, Pepper and Basil Seedlings

Celebrity and Super 100 Tomato

Poblano, Anaheim and Bell Peppers

Genovese Basil

The only thing to write home about in the Spring garden is Spinach!  I don't usually have much luck with Spinach direct sowing.  I think I will start spinach in pots from now on instead of direct sow.   The bok choy and the peas look terrible having not survived our spring drought.  We finally got 2.35 inches April 27 & 28.
