We planted most the summer seedlings on the Sunday after Derby (May 7th). We do not usually put them out this early out here at Buzzard Roost (havin' been bitten by a frost after Derby more than once) however, the long term forecast called for much rain and no frost, so we put them in. We ended up with 3 rows of Celebrity Hybrid, our canning tomato, and 1 row of Old Heirlooms we had around. We also have 3 rows of Anaheim chili peppers, 3 rows of Poblano chili and 2 rows of the California Wonder bell peppers. We have another flat of bell peppers, but they are still small, and half the garden is full!
You're earlier than usual. My tomato seedlings are about to outgrow the cold frame, but with the rains we've had (are having) it will be at least Saturday until I can get them out. So-so garden - we may be coming to you for some tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteOur seedlings had started to out grow their pots, so we had to get them in. They have had 2 inch of rain since planting and have stood up nicely. Are your peas blooming?
ReplyDeleteDavid says only 1.5 inch, but mostly overnight long and steady. I saw on radar you got a lot the last few days.
