There may be a correlation between drought and heat...last drought we had really hot peppers.

With 1.25 inches of rain my cabbages should now make.  Beans and tomato also looking good.

Onion Update

The long day Copra Onions finally grew big enough to harvest. 

They are supposed to be a good storage onion.

Screech Owls in the yard

Two immature screech owl appear every evening after sundown in the mimosa tree in the front yard.  We believe their nest is in the hollow locust tree nearby.

Longday Onions

The long day onions are hanging in there.  Grandma said "Don't let it rain on your onions in July", but I think she was talking about intermediates.  I am going to leave the long day onions in to see if they grow more.  They got 1/2 inch of rain today so we'll see if they grow!
