There is a forecast for much rain from Hurricane Helene stalling over Kentucky. So we mowed the weed ground cover, tilled, and are planting a fall crop, after all. The row plantings include: Turnip, Lettuce, Spinach, Chinese Cabbage and Radish. It is late, but we will extend the season with row covers, in hope of bok choy for Christmas.
The drought at Buzzard Roost continued through August and the garden did not produce.
Harvest includes these small chili peppers we are going to dry and a snack of cherry tomatoes.
We did get 2.5" rain from Hurricane Francine on September 13th. However the forecast moving forward has no regular rain in the forecast, so I will probably not plant the fall garden this year. Better luck next year.
