Bean Field

Here are our rows of beans along with our rows prepped for adding our peppers.  We will finish out the garden with winter squash which I am planting later this year attempting to avoid the squash borer egg laying.

  1. Dave, How did your lettuce do, peas? I didn't ask in my letter--when you answer, give me an update on the garden.

  2. Peas gave us about 4 meals and 4 pints to freeze. The plants look better than they produced. Notice I did not fence them this year. Seemed to work out ok, but maybe can blame low pea count on that. Lettuce was prolific, but turned bitter with the heat. Going to try again in fall.
